Our firm routinely handles a wide variety of real estate and land use transactions for clients, and offers ongoing counseling to help them plan, acquire, finance, manage and develop their holdings. Our attorneys have extensive experience in commercial and residential real estate transactions, including drafting and reviewing sale, purchase and lease documents, conducting title reviews, identifying and resolving easement issues, and conveying property. We deal with all types of properties, including office buildings, common interest communities (such as condominiums, planned developments and co-operatives), multi-residential apartment complexes, retail establishments, shopping centers, strip malls, industrial properties and private residences.
We represent regional and local banks, financial institutions, and other entities and individuals with respect to acquisition and construction loans for offices, retail strip centers, warehouses, industrial properties, golf courses, multi-family residential properties, and land development projects of all kinds. We also represent lenders, lessors and lessees in various types of lease financing transactions. When warranted, we assist financial institutions and developers to formulate creative financing strategies, including the establishment of commercial condominiums for the sole purpose of financing multiple stage projects.
In additional to handling transactions, our attorneys regularly represent clients before regulatory boards and agencies related to land use and real estate development issues, as well as in courts of law. Together with our litigation department, we have litigated and negotiated a large variety of real estate matters, including those involving zoning and land use issues, property line disputes, deed restrictions, workouts, loan restructurings, adverse possession, and tax and eminent domain appeals. Our attorneys have extensive experience in the defense and prosecution of commercial and residential foreclosures. Because of our firm's prominent role in litigating before the Connecticut Housing Court we are well-equipped to assist our real estate clients in commercial and residential landlord-tenant litigation.
